Is your Writernia AdSense broken?

Are you lacking any revenue from Writernia via AdSense?

You might want to check your Writernia AdSense settings. I was poking around my settings here, and I noticed that the instructions say to insert your adsense ID starting with the "pub" portion. For me, my account starts with ca-pub-*. So, when I initially pasted in my ID, I removed the "ca-" part to follow my interpretation of the instructions (start with the "pub" part). But since I've been here, I've seen no clicks on any of my pages, which I just assumed meant I needed to write more.

Earlier, a friend of mine mentioned that he had gotten a good lead on pay-per-post through one of the ads on a page of mine at Writernia - problem is, that click never showed up in my AdSense reports. So I fixed the little problem, and lo and behold, I have a click from someone today.

Anyways, hopefully that helps.

Stephanie, maybe the instructions could be revised a little in case some users make the same mistake that I did?

Day Ten - Feeds, Tweaks, and No Profit (yet?)

Day 10 – Saturday

Today's task was to add a bunch of icons for RSS/ATOM subscriptions via different feed readers. However, there is now a standardized feed icon, so there is no need to use all of them and it seems like the word subscribe is better understood by the web novices I know than any icon, including the icon specific to whatever reader they use.

Affiliate programs that work?

I've been thinking a lot lately about how to really make a serious attempt at earning some side income on the Web. I've been watching Julie Baumler's progress eagerly each day, and have found a lot of useful leads through her blog entries (I've started compiling a list of To Do's on my whiteboard, which is my best visual tool despite the many software options out there - second only to Notepad).

Day Three - Technorati, Pingoat, and Evil Genius

Friday – Day Three

We start day three by using a really cool tool to create Technorati tags for our posts. I also learned that you can add your default set of Technorati tags to your post template. I usually do my blogging with Flock (the social networking browser), which also adds Technorati tags for you, so I'll have to experiment to see what happens when you use Flock and a blog template. The tag making tool is on a website called Evil Genius Marketing, which is well worth looking at. After a quick glance at his site, it might actually contain everything in the Challenge and more. I'll definitely be going back.

AdSense Question

I'm not real familiar with AdSense. Should I see Writernia under hosts with access in my AdSense account?

Thanks, Julie

Adsense, Readers Click the adverts and make me rich

If you are a starving writer like me trying to get consistent writing gigs I know your pain. You send out your articles and the editors of magazines don’t even reply. Then came, Adsense the Google franchise where you post your article or story flanked by some Google adverts. Those advertisements are supposed to mint you money as your article is read. And possibly turn you into an internet millionaire. But there is a twist to it, just follow me. It’s not as direct as it sounds.
The whole idea of making money through writing via Adsense sounds promising. It’s supposed to be, as the readers enjoy your creative edge, they also get attracted by the advertisements posted by your story and click them. That is how one makes money.
