We recently had some good discussion here about the fact that irregular blog posting doesn't seem to be the reader turn off that many assume it to be or promote it as. I hope that we can follow this with some discussion of what does turn readers away. For me, it is usually the writing. I don't just mean bad writing, but writing that in some way makes me feel unwelcome or unwanted.

As a System Administrator by profession, I've been on the Internet on an almost daily basis since sometime in the mid-to-late 90's. Before (and after) that I was indirectly connected via a UUCP network. I was a webmaster when no one knew what that was. I independently thought of and implemented one of the first intranets. More recently, I've been writing for the second largest women's website - BellaOnline.com.
