Gillette have announced that they are limiting their marketing role as Tiger will be taking an indefinite break from golf. He is taking the break so he can sort his family problems and spend more time with them.
Recently the 14 time Major winner admitted to infidelity after weeks of speculation from magazines and newspapers. Tiger has suffered public humiliation and has suffered with his sponsorships. He has a variety of sponsors from Nike to AT&T and he has recently become the first sports star to earn $1bn.
The whole saga was released to the press when Woods crashed his car into a tree outside his Florida. Since there have been headlines from women stating that he had numerous affairs.
This has come just four days after announcing a break from golf in a bid to save his marriage. Woods stormed the votes with 56 out of 142. Lance Armstrong and Roger Federer came in after however the 14 time Major winner showed that his private life will not affect him.
More than half of the ballots were returned after the rumour’s about his private life came to the press. Woods has recently apologized for “infidelity” and has vowed to be a better person.
Tiger has single-handedly dominated the sport for the past ten years. He has won 64 tournament world wide since 2000. He is four majors behind to take the title from Jack Nicklaus.
This is good news for Tiger at the lowest point of his career to date. He has been part of a media frenzy after allegations of several affairs. Mistresses have spoken out about their relationships with the golfer and he has announced a break from golf.
Tiger Woods is hoping to win one of the hardest majors of the year this week at the USPGA Championship in Hazeltine.
Woods is hoping for his fourth USPGA title and has won his last two events on the PGA tour. There will be almost the worlds top 100 playing in the tournament and the world number one said, “This is the deepest field we get.”
“if you win this championship you have beaten the best field in all of golf.”
Tiger has taken eight months from golf however he has now won five tournaments since and has overcome is reconstructive knee surgery. He has not won a major in 2009 and missed the cut at the Open. He said “It’s been a great year either way, for me to come back and plays as well as I’ve done. I don’t think any of us would have thought I could have won this many events this year. I’m very proud of not only winning the golf tournaments but how consistent I’ve played. The one bad event I’ve had was missing the cut at the Open.”
Tiger Woods is the best golfer in the world, but Mickelson is the most exciting, and he continues to prove that every week. He also is the most stubborn cuss out there, supremely confident in his own ability while flaunting a recklessness on the course that borders on the ridiculous.
All you need to know about that is what happened on the par-5 12th hole Sunday. It was a fascinating and hilarious scene between Mickelson and his caddie/coach Jim "Bones" Mackay.
