Most Americans, if they think of Australia at all, vaguely recall it as that land ‘down under’ – where everything is upside down. They celebrate Christmas in summer, for Pete’s sake. The Yanks may be on to something.

Here’s another example. In testosterone-driven America and most of Europe, it’s the man who is willing to play any angle to get some sex – either free or paid for. Turns out, some Ozzies like to live up to their reputation and turn things upside down.

I am often surprised by the hypocrisy displayed by our print and electronic media. They make gratuitous folk heroes out of total nonentities; and then they appear pained at the excesses perpetrated by them.

And you thought it happened only in America. Taking heed of the age-old axiom “sex sells”, a church in Australia is inviting around 25,000 households for a course in sex, marriage, adultery and pornography.

Riverside Church pastor Andrew Newbold and his wife Megan have launched a four-week series on sex, marriage, adultery and pornography. They are advertising this seminar on a flyer that reads: “The best sex you’ll ever have.” The flyer shows two pairs of feet, belonging to Newbold and his wife Megan, protruding from under the sheets.
Talk about grabbing eyeballs. Madison Avenue should sit up and take notice.

The pastor’s message is wonderfully simple and direct. Sex is natural; sex is fun. Heck, even the Bible tells us to go forth and multiply. So there is no reason why it should leave some people, including church goers, feeling guilty, frustrated or empty. Calvin is dead. Long live Hugh Hefner.

Okay, I understand that some parents are worried about their kids getting too much sex education in schools, but really... what is the big deal about teaching a 5 year old what the difference is between appropriate touching and inappropriate touching while they're in kindergarten?

I don't believe in teaching kids younger than about 10 about "the birds and the bees", but if teaching kids certain aspects of sexuality (the difference between a boy and a girl and to keep their private parts to themselves) can do something to protect them, then why not do it?

Paris Hilton! Is she a master of deception, or an honest blonde that screws up just like any other human and ends up in the news? If she probably belches its news, its fashionable, and it makes her money, if I belch its lack of manners and I am roasted. The world is not fair read on.
She is rich, and got famous and had phenomenon ratings from getting a sex tape on the web. Her work ethic/day job intrigues me given she has a vague job description. If I tried myself, doing a lot of the nearly nothing that she does without even putting 100% to it, I am sure I would die a poor broke miserable old man. Yet when Paris does it, she makes more money and world headlines faster than the Middle East.
How can you explain this, I am in Kenya and still it baffles me, the fascination the press and people have for her. It’s unexplainable that the whole of the state of California comes to stand still when she gets in and out of jail. Heck! she even overshadowed Wimbledon.

Gender, defines the collective state of being either male or female. Yet this is where the collective commonness of being either male or female ends. Sexuality is the being exclusively male or female not being both except by deciding to. But in recent times, this has changed. Sexuality these days is not exclusive anymore; in a shuffle of surgeon knives one can have a sex change to change his gender and sexuality. Gender, is a dragon that if not well tamed, will unleash discrimination that civil rights leaders have never predicted.
