Some doggerel, both sad and true:
I love the virgin Tina
We walk round the marina
cross the bay from Alameda
Tina is a virgin
not by choice or notion
She's a dog very rare
Coming from Animal Care
She was abandoned and mixed
And Animal Care insisted:
She must be fixed!
But that's only their version.
Now, here's how I became a virgin
At the hands of an evil surgeon
His name is Doctor Tom Lieu
As he felt compelled to do
with his knife, and for life
he permanently fixed me too.
Left me with a big aversion
to Tom lieu, the evil surgeon
Now Tina and I together
forever will be -- a virgin.
The unbroken, Arye Michael Bender, as told by Tina-the-Beast -- a virgin
You were in my dream last night
Which was strange
And I knew that I didn't want you there because
You complicate things
And what made it even stranger
Was realizing that today is your birthday
So
Happy birthday
I guess
The petals of maturity do blossom
As the overwhelming wheels of hope will spin
The new song of desire sings a sweet melody
While the high speed whisper of life caresses the day
The brightness of an exceptional future warms our hearts
In the silence, a different haze of yesterday will burn away
The unsatisfied tip toeing of tomorrow slips by without a care
Caressing the pebbles of memories form a majestic castle in our lives
The wings of a most splendid hope spans our horizons
While the hum of a human life's engine sings a most beautiful lullaby
The delivery of a most delicious of desires floats easily into our minds
But the jagged pathway to a much different tomorrow reveals its map
The buzz of an unknown happiness caresses our yearning hearts
The dawn of a realization glows amber red
While the sudden downpour of validity drips from the eves of souls
The rainbow of painted tomorrows colors a new beginning
STRANGERS IN THE NIGHT
PASSING IN THE MOONLIGHT
SHADOWS FLOWING RECKLESSLY
NOTHING THE EYES CAN SEE
A WONDERFUL FEELING
THE HEART IS BEATING
TRYING TO UNDERSTAND
THE ULTIMATE PLAN
COURAGE BEGINNING TO APPEAR
TAKING AWAY ALL FEAR
STRANGERS IN THE NIGHT
FRIENDS BY DAYLIGHT
TREMBLING, TOUCHING, KISSING
THINKING, NEEDING, WISHING
SUNSET-STARLIGHT
TIME STOPS
HEARTS IN FLIGHT
NO LONGER STRANGERS IN THE NIGHT
A rose is beautiful in its opening blossom
It is gorgeous until it is all gone
A lilac, with a scent from heaven
Reminds us of a place where we began
Rainbows color the sky so bright
Until they finally take their flight
Brooks swing a sweet lullaby
Until they are too dry
The sun, an angel to guide us through
The night a dark and mysterious hue
Friendship, a gift to cherish for ever
From our heart, kindness could never sever
Time never stops its onward plot
Guiding us from our every thought
Life a gift never appreciated
Until there is someone who is a belated
Life, more than just a dream
It is truly a beginning to a theme
Happiness may only seem
For others, but not for us
In ourselves and life, we should always trust.
Time keeps ticking by
My eyes do nothing but follow the seconds
I miss your lovely presence
I sit here waiting with a huge sigh
Why must time go so slow?
Does it not know?
That I am wishing for the moment
That you are here beside me?
When will time stop teasing?
When will my fantasy become reality?
When will we be able to embrace once again?
Why do I have so many questions?
No answers to be found
The room, it is empty, hollow
No life has been found
I wonder why is it that we are apart
When will our lives meet with the beating of our hearts?
What shall I do?
When shall the ticking become reality?
When shall the clock become my friend?
A friend for me once again?
I miss you
The sun, an angel to guide us through
The night a dark and mysterious hue
Friendship, a gift to cherish for ever
From our heart, kindness could never sever
Time never stops its onward plot
Guiding us from our every thought
Life a gift never appreciated
Until there is someone who is a belated
Life, more than just a dream
It is truly a beginning to a theme
Happiness may only seem
For others, but not for us
In ourselves and life, we should always trust.
Two families formerly foes
Toss flaming hatred to a funeral pyre;
Those they hated in Verona
They now regretfully admire.
Giving ground to one another
When they formerly would giveth none;
Conceding the moon to Montague
And to Capulet the sun.
Two houses side by side
Like two weeping eyes;
Tears drowning the feud-filled flames,
Leaving ashes of shame.
Dressed as the cheek of night
In the light of day;
Mourning two star-crossed lovers
Who six feet under lay.
Two entombed hearts
Facing stars they hath crossed;
Whispering wind bids farewell
To the lives they hath lost;
Aye, the dagger 'tis stained with blood;
Mortal flesh it kills;
Though it hath preserved an eternal love
That drips from poets' quills.
Scene I
The Montague and Capulet clans are gathered at Romeo and Juliet's funeral. Like two sabers crossed, Lord Montague and Lord Capulet lock on to each other's gaze.
42 empty seats stand beside me
42 people decided not to notice
I sat here all alone forever
while everyone else sticks together.
I ran through the halls
the veins of this school
no one was around to share
this whole brand new air
creative minds were thrown away
their futures were forgotten
when the day that comes
where the school has to die
it will fall deadly to the ground
and I will go with it down
Where do we write Poetry? I don't see it as one of the categories I can write in.
