I would like to extend an invitation to all of you 'Writernians' to participate in a variety of writing exercises.
Many times I sit with my laptop, eager to write, but draw a complete blank. It is at times like these that I look for writing exercises to spark my imagination. It occurs to me that Writernia would be an excellent place to do something like this, so here goes...
Here is how we'll do it:
-In this forum we will post the writing exercises (I'll provide the first one). You can be as vague or specific with the exercise as you want.
- If you wish to participate, complete the exercise and post it in the appropriate area (story, poem, etc.)
-Post a message in this forum with a link to the story/poem/etc. that you created as result of the writing exercise
- Don't forget to read and comment on what other participants wrote!

EXERCISE #1
Write a 250 - 550 word short story that ends with the sentence:
She let the rusty screw fall into the gutter.

We'll post depending on the writing exercise. The one I provided should be posted in the stories section. We would then use this forum to post a link to that story so that others will know that it was written in response to the exercise and it will be easier to find.
I hope many people join! It would be great to see the different results.
