Stephanie did a test of the twitter module, which you can activate by going to "My Account" then going under "Edit"
Under "Edit" you will enter your twitter name and password.
In Stephanie's test, she sent text from her blog which appeared on her twitter page. Her post also included a link back to her blog, which took the reader from the twitter post to the writernia blog page.
My question is in the "Edit" settings under "Text format" what do the various options post to twitter. I would like to just post the text of my writernia blog on my twitter page, without a link back to my writernia blog. I will put a link in my twitter information, in case anyone wants to visit my blog.
I.E. if you put "!title" into the "Text format" area, it will no doubt send to twitter the title of the blog post. If you put "!url" into the "Text format" area, you will send to twitter a link back to your writernia blog. I am assuming that if you want to just post the text, that you would put nothing, but that is my question: does the "Text format" need to have just the word "text" to post the text, or is that automatic? Also, as in html, do i need to surround things with the "<" and ">" as in:
Thanks for your help, Stephanie!
my twitter address is:
i write short images, so i found that if i write the whole haiku as the "Title" of my blog entry, and then put 4 blank spaces in the "Body" then i get what i want posted on twitter. i also put in "My Account" under "Edit" under "Text Format" only "!title"
when i didn't put anything in the "Text Format" box, it defaulted to posting the title and url of the blog entry to twitter.
any other hints for posting to twitter would be appreciated, as i'm sure not everyone wants to post the way i do.
thanks!
