A man goes to a brothel; there he finds his wife is working there. They are now divorcing, though you'd think they'd be perfect for each other!
Well, it's a bit sad that you have to write about a celebrity to get some traffic, but I thought I would share. I blogged about Jennifer Love Hewitt and the whole uproar over her tiny bit of cellulite and my traffic tripled in a day. All from Jennifer Love Hewitt searches.
Sigh.
A very amusing video:
Here is a very informative video from screenwriter (FIELD OF DREAMS, SNEAKERS) and WGAw board member Phil Alden Robinson. He relates the key turning points in the battle for the rights of working screenwriters as technology has advanced.
I have decided to write a "column" of sorts and publish it on sites like this one to promote my website at:
I am in holistic healing, well-being, spirituality, etc. I am trying to find the right tone that brings out the best side of my personality...and also so the column isn't too boring and generic.
I'm trying to come up with a general theme and title...something along the lines of spirituality, positive energy, healing, alternative health, etc.
Comments and feedback appreciated.
In May, I applied for an open topic at About.com, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. No response. At the beginning of August, they sent me a username and password with no instructions.
It turns out they put me into their two-week training program but neglected to give me a heads up, ask me if this was a good time, or even give me the damn instructions.
I busted my ass at the last minute for two weeks. They give you very narrow deadlines. You have to put up tons of content and links. Their back-end is horrible - it is a mish-mash of old and new systems. They do not have a graphical editor to use. They don't have any training calls. They just hand you a link to a bunch of dense documentation and you are on your own.
My "prep editor" barely responded to my emails. I got no help from her.
Just a test
This is in response to the comment about the vitriolic blog that supposedly gets 100,000 visitors.
Do you ever wonder why some blogs hit it big and others don't? Is it just a case of a blog being better? Or is there a bit of fate and Internet whim involved?
E.g., maybe you are minding your own business and one day, someone with a lot of traffic links to your website. Boom! You get a lot of hits, and then more hits, and then voila, you have a big website.
Meanwhile, I am going to try some of Julie's tips in promoting my new yoga blog, namely, going and posting on other blogs where my URL is linked.
We'll see if that helps!
